List of Sites Hosting Project Gutenberg EBooks

The GUTINDEX Listings of EBooks

The GUTINDEX files list all our eBooks chronologically (updated weekly). This file also explains our new and old filing systems.

A separate listing is maintained for Project Gutenberg of Australia:

GUTINDEX Listings by Year

If GUTINDEX.ALL is too big, you can download GUTINDEX files by year.

EBooks after #10.000

EBooks #1 to #10.000

Note: these books were originally filed in directories by 'planned release year'. By 2003 we got about 3 years ahead of schedule, so books planned for release in 2006 were actually released in 2003.

Directory Listings

EBooks 1 to 10.000 were located in 'planned release year' directories. After eBook 10.000 we changed our filing system. We also started to move some of the pre-10.000 books into the new filing system. To know if a pre-10.000 book has already been moved to the new filing system you have to consult GUTINDEX.ALL.

All eBook directories start from http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/

The Project Gutenberg Catalog in Machine-Readable Format
