Emmy’s Picks

On the first page of many Project Gutenberg books, you might see the following notice:

Produced by Emmy, … and the Online Distributed Proofreading Team at https://www.pgdp.net

Emmy (M) Miller was a volunteer at Distributed Proofreaders, a non-profit organization that converts public domain/out-of-copyright books into “electronic texts” and provides them to Project Gutenberg for free distribution.

Emmy died in February 2017 and is deeply missed by everybody at Distributed Proofreaders.

In her work at Distributed Proofreaders, she was directly responsible for adding more than 1,000 e-books, many in the realm of Children’s Literature, to Project Gutenberg. Emmy loved her work and was loved and respected in turn by everyone in the Distributed Proofreaders community.
